Post Consumer Waste recycled

Pre-consumer waste paper, the paper produced by Australian paper manufacturers who produce brands such as 'Reflex' brand paper regrettably only produce lower grade ‘recycled’ papers using mostly pre-consumer waste providing little environmental benefit.

This is because it contains essentially unused virgin wood pulp and offcuts from other industries sourced directly from native forests. 'Post-consumer waste' recycled paper uses a large proportion of post consumer waste i.e. paper that has been used at least once by consumers eg. in office settings before being recovered by a recycling company.

We choose papers for our business that use fibre derived:

  • from post consumer waste paper;
  • from well managed plantation fibre including eucalyptus and pine, as well as alternative fibre crops such as hemp, kenaf and bagasse. Preferably certified to a standard meeting or exceeding that of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
  • not from genetically modified organisms and;
  • paper manufactured without chlorine bleaching.
  • the corporation producing the paper is responsible towards forests as a whole, and is genuinely working to diminish its environmental impact.
