Better Batteries

If you own a camera or any other battery operated equipment most people would be aiming get the most efficient use from their batteries, whilst protecting the environment.

However, not all batteries are created equal! the standard 'single use' alkaline NI-CAD batteries (the basic batteries you can pick up in the supermarket) are highly toxic to the environment.

The first step to responsible battery use is the purchase re-chargeable batteries.  As professional photographers we can use considerable numbers of batteries at photo shoots. So we think it is important to use the highest quality long life rechargeable batteries on the market and understand how to get the best out of the battery by protecting and extending their life including methods to recharge them, such as solar recharging.

So when considering the environment use NiMH batteries which are a much better selection for the environment than NI-CAD batteries.

Where we have used Ni-Cad batteries we will dispose of them responsibly through accredited disposal programs instead of throwing them into landfill, which causes a very nasty mess!
