Nigel Clements Photography was founded by Nigel Clements, an award-winning Melbourne photographer whose passion for his craft has made him one of Melbourne’s most distinctive and creative photographers.

After abandoning a potential career as a professional musician, Nigel, while working as a geologist in the Australian landscape, discovered a love of photography and began developing his passion for photography and fine art, graduating with a high distinction from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1993.

For more than 15 years, Nigel developed his craft and has worked across all genres of photography, developing versatility and a wealth of knowledge that has helped him evolve and refine his practice.

He creates unique, cutting-edge images of the highest calibre. At the heart of his work lies a heightened sense of colour and composition.

His images have been collected, exhibited and published widely, affirming the creativity and functionality of his photographs.

Nigel Clements Photography currently works in the corporate, events, industrial, advertising and photojournalism sectors and Nigel has a personal preference for geological, mining, sports, visual and performing arts photography and wedding photojournalism in Melbourne, Victoria and beyond.

He uses his background as a geologist to understand the needs of people working in the educational, geological, industrial and mining industries and applies his knowledge of the subject matter to his photography, creating a unique perspective.

Nigel has extensive experience in photojournalism and his background in playing basketball at a national level aided the development of his interest in sports photography.

His love for music and performing arts photography developed from his experiences as a songwriter-guitarist for an alternative band that found success through his songwriting to go on to support REM, The Proclaimers and The Go-Betweens.

Nigel has taught photography in Melbourne at the International College of Professional Photography (ICPP), Swinburne Senior Secondary College and Holmesglen College of TAFE. He also developed a specialised photojournalism course at the Photographic Imaging College (PIC), Melbourne.

His background in arts and science, press knowledge and his commitment to protecting the environment leaves him uniquely placed to undertake work in the corporate and industrial sectors. This affinity enables him to quickly understand the visual needs of the client to create striking images.
